The Tri County Area Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a 81-76 hit to the loss column at the hands of Newaygo. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (60), Tri County Area still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Tri County Area lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brennan Grabinski. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Grabinski has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Rykse, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Tri County Area's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Newaygo, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri County Area will take on Morley Stanwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tri County Area is facing Morley Stanwood at the right time seeing as Morley Stanwood is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Newaygo, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Shelby at 7:00 p.m. Newaygo has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
