Meanwhile, Point Pleasant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 56-36 to Scott. While losing is never fun, the Big Blacks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 551st, while the Skyhawks are ranked 57th).
Buffalo will have to keep a close watch on Asher Robinson and Carrsen Lambert, a pair of players who had a big impact on Point Pleasant's prior game. Robinson scored six points, while Lambert put up ten points and three steals.
Even though they lost, Point Pleasant was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Buffalo has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Point Pleasant struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Buffalo came up short against Point Pleasant in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 59-48. Thankfully for Buffalo, Josh Chapman (who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 13 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
