Basketball Recap: Fort Thomas Skates Past Valley Lutheran with Ease

Fort Thomas won the last time they faced Valley Lutheran and things went their way on Friday too. The Fort Thomas Apaches claimed a resounding 65-37 win over the Valley Lutheran Flames. The Apaches have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Fort Thomas can attribute much of their success to Kaylee Benally, who went 5 for 12 en route to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Cody, who posted eight points and six boards.

Fort Thomas was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley Lutheran only posted three assists.

Several Flames players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Viddiate Clinton, who put up six points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That's the most boards Clinton has posted since back in December of 2024. Elise Winter was another key player, putting up 12 points and eight rebounds.

Fort Thomas is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points over those games. As for Valley Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.

Fort Thomas has already played their next contest, a 53-19 victory against Cicero Prep Academy on the 8th. Valley Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
