The Robinson Bulldogs will face off against the East Rowan Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Robinson will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Robinson is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 12-9 win over A.L. Brown on Saturday.
Ayden Coble looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Robinson got a massive performance out of Jake Barbee, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Barbee has posted since back in April of 2024. Jacob Payton was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Robinson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, East Rowan came tearing into Friday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Falcons get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Harrison Ailshie made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Sam Blackwelder was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Krys Hernandez, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Robinson has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. East Rowan's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
Robinson couldn't quite get it done against East Rowan when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Will Robinson have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
