Mount Dora hasn't had much luck against Tavares recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Hurricanes will welcome the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Mount Dora took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Bishop Moore, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hurricanes skirted past the Hornets 7-5. The victory was nothing new for the Hurricanes as they're now sitting on three straight.
KALEIGH CASEY spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks.

TAKIYAH WHITE
04/11/25 @ Bishop Moore | 2 |
04/08/25 @ Lake Weir | 1 |
03/26/25 @ Vanguard | 1 |
03/07/25 @ Foundation Academy | 1 |
03/04/25 @ Tavares | 1 |
At the plate, TAKIYAH WHITE was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Tavares had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Lake Minneola 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since March 20th.
Tavares also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Emersyn Lee gave up only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up eight Ks. Lee has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Tavares saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Pattee, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Another was Jasmine Lawrence, who scored a run and stole two bases.
Mount Dora's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for Tavares, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Mount Dora couldn't quite get it done against Tavares in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 7-2. Will the Hurricanes have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
