If Somerset Academy Central Miramar hoped to take revenge for the 77-50 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Jayden Auguste and Joshua Petit certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Auguste scored 16 points along with four steals, while Petit scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Auguste has scored all season. Giovanni Gordan was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Somerset Academy Central Miramar's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-5. As for Franklin Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Somerset Academy Central Miramar will square off against ABF Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Franklin Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Sheridan Hills Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sheridan Hills Christian will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
