Prairie is 8-1 against Heritage since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Falcons will welcome the Timberwolves at 4:30 p.m. Prairie is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Prairie is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Kelso just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Hilanders by a score of 3-2.

Mackenzie Moore was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Payton Miller made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Heritage never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 24-0 margin over Evergreen. Considering the Timberwolves have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Jaila Ellis, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaleigh Zabel, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
Heritage was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The victory made it two in a row for Heritage and bumps their season record up to 9-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Prairie, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 11-5.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Prairie hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. However, it's not like Heritage struggles in that department as they've averaged .363. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Prairie's way against Heritage in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Prairie made off with an 11-0 victory. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Timberwolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
