The McCutcheon Mavericks came tearing into  Thursday's  matchup with ten straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. In a tight  game that could have gone either way, they made off with a  37-36 win over Benton Central. Despite the  win, that was the fewest points McCutcheon has scored all season.
 McCutcheon found their leader in underclassman  Chloe Finney, who  scored 12 points along with five  rebounds and three  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Braelyn Williams, who  scored eight points.
 McCutcheon pushed their record up to 14-2 with that  win, which was their fourth straight  at home. As for Benton Central, their defeat  ended a five-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 15-3.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McCutcheon will take on Richmond at 5:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Benton Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Western at 12:30  p.m.  on Saturday. Hopefully Western focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
