Butch Kiblen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Andrew Hurley, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Connor Isakson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
The home team had come away the winner the last three times Lewiston and Sandpoint had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bengals skirted past the Bulldogs 5-4. The game was the first time the Bengals have beaten the Bulldogs on their field since April 20, 2024.
Guy Krasselt was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Lewiston's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 6-12 when he doesn't).
Lewiston's win bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Moscow, their victory bumped their record up to 16-9.
Lewiston's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Moscow has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .440. It's a different story for Lewiston, though, as they've only averaged .354. Will they be able to contain Moscow's hitters?
