Basketball Recap: Kalskag Sets Scoring Season-High Against Aniak

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kalskag). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-53 win over the Aniak Halfbreeds on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Grizzly Bears: when they faced off against the Halfbreeds last Saturday, they had to take a 48-38 loss.

Kalskag's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emily Evan, who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rose Kameroff, who earned 16 points.

Kalskag's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Aniak, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-5.

Kalskag didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-42 win against Akiak on the 13th. As for Aniak, they will host Tuluksak on Saturday.
