The Whitney Wildcats''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a tough 35-9 defeat at the hands of Oak Ridge. While losing is never fun, Whitney can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Oak Ridge is ranked 32nd).
Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. All those points came courtesy of Ryan Eisert: he added nine points with three field goals.
Oak Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jasen Womack led the charge by rushing for 77 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadon Anderson, who picked up 84 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Whitney's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Oak Ridge, the win was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Whitney will head out on the road to face off against Del Oro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Del Oro is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Oak Ridge, they will be playing at home against Rocklin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rocklin is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
