This season hasn't been kind to the Buena Vista Bison, who are still winless after their ninth game. They had to suffer through a rough 57-22 loss at the hands of Benson. Buena Vista has not had much luck with Benson recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Bison players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eli Smith, who scored three points along with ten rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Buena Vista struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Buena Vista bumped their record down to 0-9 with that defeat, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.1 points per game. As for Benson, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-7.
Buena Vista won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bryan at 7:00 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Bryan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday. As for Benson, they will head out on the road to face off against Burke at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
