The Grapevine Mustangs will be home for the holidays to greet the Ryan Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grapevine has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Tuesday, Grapevine was the victim of a rough 78-53 loss at the hands of Lake Ridge. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Grapevine in their matchups with Lake Ridge: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite their loss, Grapevine saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Aaron Sowell, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for him. Dalton Wallace was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Ryan lost to Lake Ridge at home by a decisive 62-46 margin last Tuesday. It was the first time this season that Ryan let down their fans at home.
Grapevine has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Ryan, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-5.
Everything came up roses for Grapevine against Ryan in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 74-47 victory. Does Grapevine have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ryan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
