Meadowcreek and North Gwinnett are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Meadowcreek Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the North Gwinnett Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meadowcreek will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 255th, while North Gwinnett is ranked 82nd).
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Meadowcreek, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-43 loss to Peachtree Ridge. Meadowcreek has struggled against Peachtree Ridge recently, as their contest on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Damari Wright, who scored 15 points. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Adonai Mussie, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Meadowcreek struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Even though North Gwinnett has not done well against Norcross recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. North Gwinnett secured a 66-60 W over Norcross. The win made it back-to-back wins for North Gwinnett.
Meadowcreek's defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 5-11. As for North Gwinnett, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Meadowcreek came out on top in a nail-biter against North Gwinnett in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, sneaking past 57-54. Does Meadowcreek have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Gwinnett turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
