The Sneads Pirates will head out on the road to square off against the Altha Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Sneads suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 60-35 walloping at the hands of Blountstown. While losing is never fun, Sneads can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 595th, while Blountstown is ranked 236th).
Meanwhile, Altha's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 52-11 defeat at the hands of Liberty County.
Sneads has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Altha, they bumped their record down to 2-14 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Sneads against Altha in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 as the team secured a 47-12 win. With Sneads ahead 31-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
