The Redeemer Christian Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Taylor Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Redeemer Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Thursday.
Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Redeemer Christian beat First Academy 36-32. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Redeemer Christian.
Redeemer Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laramie Butler, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Selena Martin, who scored four points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Taylor's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. Their tough 44-20 defeat to Halifax Academy might stick with them for a while.
Redeemer Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Taylor, they bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Redeemer Christian against Taylor in their previous meeting last Friday as the squad secured a 46-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Redeemer Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
