The Galena Grizzlies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 50-24 walloping at the hands of Rocklin. Galena lost against Rocklin in their previous head to head back in December of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 39-26 score last time.
Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mia Turner, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. The match was Turner's fifth in a row with at least ten points.
Galena's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Rocklin, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Galena and Douglas will face off at 5:15 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Douglas presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Galena in Nevada (Douglas is ranked tenth, while Galena is ranked 56th). As for Rocklin, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Del Oro at 6:00 p.m.
