Sierra Valley Conference recap November 5, 2013
Cosumnes Oaks added to the longest winning streak in Sierra Valley Conference this week by beating Liberty Ranch, 45-13. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Wolfpack.
River City took down Galt 63-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jackson Tharp threw for 89 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win.
Alex Kropp threw for 227 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 10-16 with 0 interceptions.
Kropp put up the best numbers through the air as Cosumnes Oaks topped the Hawks. Kropp's favorite target this week was Alex Van Dyke Jr., who caught 4 passes for 109 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Matt Jimison of Vista del Lago is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2,738. He has also thrown 30 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Van Dyke Jr.. The Cosumnes Oaks star has 40 catches for 772 yards.
The Raiders are currently in third, while Ryan Gomes' team is in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when River City takes on the Wolfpack. Steve DaPrato's team has allowed 190 points this season, while Cosumnes Oaks has given up 139. The Raiders allowed 6 points last week as they bested the Warriors.
Galt made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,789 from 12,932. The improvement was the result of a 63-6 victory over Judson Woodward's team last week.
