The Flagler Panthers had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 48-38 to Kiowa. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Flagler in their matchups with Kiowa: they've now lost four in a row.
Flagler's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaylie Stone, who scored 8 points along with 10 steals and 9 rebounds. Another player making a difference was KaCee Jo Saffer, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
Flagler's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Kiowa, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Flagler will square off against Weldon Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Kiowa, they will head out on the road to face off against Calhan at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
