The Shadow Mountain Matadors will head out on the road to challenge the Moon Valley Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shadow Mountain will be strutting in after a win while Moon Valley will be coming in after a loss.
Shadow Mountain was handed a 21-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Greenway on Thursday. Shadow Mountain narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Greenway 30-27. The win was just what Shadow Mountain needed coming off of a 56-35 defeat in their prior game.
Shadow Mountain's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Pierce Rogers, who scored six points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tate Newport, who scored three points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Moon Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Thunderbird.
Shadow Mountain's win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-12. As for Moon Valley, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Shadow Mountain suffered a grim 65-42 defeat to Moon Valley when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Shadow Mountain avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
