Hunter dropped to 7-7 on Saturday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They lost 12-5 to the Alta Hawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wolverines have suffered since April 7, 2025.
KENYA LAPUAHO was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs, three runs, and one stolen base while going 3-for-4. ALEXA OLSEN was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for Alta, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
On Alta's side, Emery Pettitt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. What's more, Pettitt posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
In other batting news, Brielle Watson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Hannah Hilton, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Looking ahead, Hunter will head out to square off against Granger at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alta, they will face off against Viewmont at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
