Todd County Central hasn't had much luck against Logan County recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Rebels will be playing at home against the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Todd County Central sitting on five straight wins and Logan County on four.
While Todd County Central didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over Heritage Christian Academy on Thursday.

Ty Jolly made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Jolly was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton Ortiz, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March. Conner Wheeler was another key player, earning one run and two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Logan County). They won by a run and slipped past Russell County 17-16. With that win, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Logan County got a massive performance out of EJ Walker, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lyndon Wilson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Logan County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Logan County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs across that stretch. As for Todd County Central, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
Todd County Central's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's contest. The Rebels have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Logan County, though, as they've been averaging only 1.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Todd County Central continue to outrun the ball?
Todd County Central suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Logan County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Rebels have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
