The Kiowa Indians will head out on the road to square off against the Colorado Springs School Kodiaks at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Colorado Springs School took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Kiowa, who comes in off a win.
After only 21 points in their last contest, Kiowa made sure to put some points up on the board against Deer Trail on Wednesday. Kiowa simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Deer Trail 58-20 on the road. That looming 58-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Kiowa yet this season.
Paulino Lupercio continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Vicente Bolivar was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Colorado Springs School came up short against James Irwin on Tuesday and fell 60-48. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Colorado Springs School in their matchups with James Irwin: they've now lost three in a row.
Kiowa's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for Colorado Springs School, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Kiowa, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-42 loss to Colorado Springs School in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. Can Kiowa avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
