The Tallmadge Blue Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tallmadge has five straight wins, Stow-Munroe Falls has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, Tallmadge got the win against Barberton by a conclusive 14-2. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by nine runs or more this season.

Caitlyn Carter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Marissa Charton, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sophia Kroah, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Stow-Munroe Falls fell victim to Solon and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Comets. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.
Tallmadge's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.2 runs over those games. As for Stow-Munroe Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
Stow-Munroe Falls' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Tallmadge has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Stow-Munroe Falls, though, as they've been averaging 8.7 hits. Given Tallmadge's sizable advantage in that area, the Bulldogs will need to find a way to close that gap.
Tallmadge beat Stow-Munroe Falls 6-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
