Miller had lost four straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 2-12 to make it five. They fell 10-7 to the King Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-1 on Monday.

David James made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Uriah Howard also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
As for King, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-7-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games.
On King's side, Grant Hoogland was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, Hoogland posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple. He has become a key player for King: the team is 3-0-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7-1 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aidan Reyes, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Justin Lytle, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Coincidentally, Miller and King will both be playing Corpus Christi Moody the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will head out to face the Trojans at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, while the Buccaneers will host them at 6:00 p.m. on the 20th.
