The Sherwood Bowmen's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cedar Valley.
Cedar Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Bawden, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him. Brennan Olsen was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Sherwood has fallen quite a ways from their 20-8 record last season and are now at 2-6. As for Cedar Valley, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.
Sherwood will head out on the road to face off against Mountainside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Valley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Campo Verde at 3:00 p.m. on December 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Campo Verde is ranked 56th in Arizona, while Cedar Valley is ranked 63rd in Utah).
