North Quincy and Hanover are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Raiders will welcome the Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
North Quincy barely beat Quincy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Presidents on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Presidents: they've now won eight in a row.

Nick Ambroult tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of North Quincy's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 4-2 (and 4-7 when he doesn't).
At the plate, Tim Toland was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. North Quincy is 4-2 when Toland posts two or more runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ronan Brown, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
North Quincy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Hanover owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Pembroke with a sharp 9-0 victory. Considering the Hawks have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
The result came thanks to Will Davidson's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Aidan Van Dyk was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Sam Light was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
North Quincy's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Hanover, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. North Quincy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hanover struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
North Quincy came out on top in a nail-biter against Hanover in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
