The Lincoln Lions will square off against the Christopher Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincoln is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Lincoln got the win against Oak Grove by a conclusive 15-2. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
The team relied heavily on Khloe Pulido, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Serenity Hernandez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lincoln kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Christopher's offense. They came up short against Piedmont Hills on Wednesday, falling 9-0. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Christopher saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Audrina Cabanlit, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Christopher, they dropped their record down to 6-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Christopher's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lincoln has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .447. It's a different story for Christopher, though, as they've only averaged .348. Will they be able to contain Lincoln's hitters?
Everything went Lincoln's way against Christopher in their previous meeting back in March, as Lincoln made off with a 9-2 victory. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
