Salida's got stronger as the match went on, holding Florence to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, 25-12.
Lamar better keep an eye on Cooper Fisher. She was instrumental in Salida's win, getting 20 digs and five aces. That's the most aces Fisher has posted since back in August.
Salida was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They are a perfect 4-0 when they serve at least ten aces.
Salida's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Lamar, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's match: Lamar has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Salida struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything went Lamar's way against Salida in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as Lamar made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Thunder repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
