Adding to the longest winning streak in Tri-Valley (9 Man) this week, Garretson beat Irene/Wakonda 28-6. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Blue Dragons.
Viborg/Hurley led the league in scoring this week after putting up 38 points on Baltic. Jack Huether threw for 197 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 124 yards during the win.
The Cougars' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Huether contributed 124 yards. Matt Munkvold helped Viborg/Hurley's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 43 yards.
Lucas Jacobson made the biggest impact on defense this week as Viborg/Hurley beat the Bulldogs. The 6-foot-3 junior racked up 1 sack.
He was 11-17 with 1 interception.
Huether was the most successful running back in the league this week. Rusten Anderson also contributed to the rushing game with 82 yards on the ground.
Viborg/Hurley's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Huether has thrown for 790 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Anderson has 19 catches for 319 yards. Huether also leads the league in rushing with 802 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Alcester-Hudson takes on Centerville. The Cubs are currently in second, while the Tornadoes are in fifth.
There should be lots of points scored when Brett Mellem's team and the Eagles face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Cougars comes in having scored 208 this season, while Irene/Wakonda has scored 150. Viborg/Hurley scored 38 points last week as it bested Baltic.
