The Ogilvie Lions will be home for the holidays to greet the Upsala Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Ogilvie knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Upsala likes a good challenge.
Ogilvie has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 26 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Aitkin with a sharp 74-48 win on Tuesday. Given Ogilvie's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Aitkin is ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Upsala lost to Osakis on the road by a decisive 51-37 margin on Friday. Upsala has not had much luck with Osakis recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Hannah Heesen, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Isabel Ripplinger was another key contributor, scoring four points along with four steals.
Ogilvie's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Upsala, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
