The Lima Christian Saints have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. Their rough 61-39 loss to Finney on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. If Lima Christian was looking for revenge after losing 59-28 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Despite the defeat, Lima Christian had strong showings from Lily Herring, who scored 24 points, and Alyssa Marsh, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Marsh is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Britton, who scored no points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Lima Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4. As for Finney, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lima Christian will take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rochester Prep is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Finney, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. Harley Allendale Columbia has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 4.
