After two games on the road, Marian Catholic is heading back home. They will take on the Tri-Valley Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, Marian Catholic earned a 50-39 victory over Our Lady of Lourdes Regional.
James Rodino was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Jesse Rodino was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Meanwhile, even though Kutztown scored an imposing 61 points on Saturday, Tri-Valley still came out on top. Tri-Valley enjoyed a cozy 75-61 victory over Kutztown. Given Tri-Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while Kutztown is ranked 630th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Noah Porter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Leonard, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Marian Catholic's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7. As for Tri-Valley, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Marian Catholic hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 55.1 points per game. However, it's not like Tri-Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 60.1 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Marian Catholic came up short against Tri-Valley in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 56-44. Will Marian Catholic have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
