Central had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the DeKalb Barbs. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Barbs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-17.

Haidyn Schatz paced Central's offense, picking up 12 kills. Schatz got some help from Makenna Manganiello and her ten assists. LaRaiya Cunningham-Duncan and Peyton Strout kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central will venture away from home to square off against Crystal Lake South at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Rockets' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for DeKalb, they will head out to face off against Sycamore at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
