In their previous meeting,
Stone Ridge Christian delivered
Millennium a punishing 49 - 20 defeat. While not characterized by quite the same dominating performance, the rematch ultimately ended up the same way. Stone Ridge Christian scooted by Millennium last week with a score of 38 - 18.
Millennium had a mediocre defensive performance in the first half, giving up 24 points. That left it at a 24 - 0 disadvantage. Even after 18 points in the second half, the team couldn't make up the lost ground.
Despite Millennium's defeat, the squad still enjoyed a top-notch performance from junior Isaiah Woods, who ran for 128 yards and also punched in one touchdown. This marked the 4th consecutive game in which Woods had 100+ rushing yards. Additional support came from senior Enrique Walten, a defensive powerhouse who racked up 12 tackles.
The win lifted Stone Ridge Christian to 8-1. Millennium's record fell to 2-6 after the loss.
Both teams are aiming to improve upon those records in their upcoming games. Stone Ridge Christian will face off against Emery Friday at 7:00 PM. As for Millennium, it will square off against Sierra Ridge Academy/ROP this Friday at 7:00 PM.
