Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Centerville should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They will take on Wayne at home at 7:00 PM. Centerville have seen their point totals decreasing over the past four games, a vulnerability Wayne are surely hoping to exploit.
It was all tied up at halftime, but Centerville weren't quite Springboro's equal in the second half when they met last Friday. Centerville took a serious blow against Springboro, falling 0-35.
As for Wayne, Wayne had a rough outing against Miamisburg two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Wayne made easy work of Northmont and carried off a 49-20 win. Followers of Wayne probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected three blowout victories.
Wayne's victory lifted them to 3-2 while Centerville's loss dropped them down to 0-5. We'll see if Wayne's success rolls on or if Centerville are able to steal their positive momentum.
