The Franklin Admirals entered their tilt with the Independence Eagles with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Franklin had just enough and edged the Eagles out 40-37. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Franklin also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madison Zaitz, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. It was the first time this season that Zaitz pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Evy Nichols, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Franklin's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-13. As for Independence, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin will face off against the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Summit is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Independence, they will head out on the road to take on the Raptors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Tennessee (Ravenwood is ranked 220th, while the Eagles are ranked 229th).
