Basketball Game Preview: Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks vs. Roanoke Catholic Celtics

Miller School of Albemarle is 10-0 against Roanoke Catholic since January of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks will head out to challenge the Roanoke Catholic Celtics at 5:00 p.m. Miller School of Albemarle will be strutting in after a victory while Roanoke Catholic will be coming in after a defeat.

Back in December of 2024, Miller School of Albemarle strolled past Indian River with points to spare, taking the game 57-40.

Anna Smith was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Wells, who posted 11 points and six assists.

Meanwhile, Roanoke Catholic played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 60-9 loss at the hands of Jefferson Christian Academy. The Celtics haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Roanoke Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Miller School of Albemarle, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.

Miller School of Albemarle beat Roanoke Catholic 37-29 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Roanoke Catholic's Mickie O?Herron, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards.
