Divine Savior Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Florida Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the loss, Divine Savior Academy still got an impressive performance from Sofia Mueller, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Florida Christian was led to victory by Leah Perez and Natalia Stocker. Perez scored 16 points, while Stocker scored 23 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Perez has scored at least 25% of Florida Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Zoe Campos, who scored six points.
Divine Savior Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Florida Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season.
Divine Savior Academy will head out on the road to face off against Coral Shores at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Coral Shores will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Florida Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Westminster Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 11, 2024.
