After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Faith Christian Academy, the Jenkintown Drakes were happy to have found some success on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 54-33 margin over Valley Forge Military Academy. With that victory, Jenkintown brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.
Tommy Walsh continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Kareem Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
The victory got Jenkintown back to even at 3-3. As for Valley Forge Military Academy, they bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Jenkintown will be home for the holidays to greet Quakertown Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Valley Forge Military Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Morrisville at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
