The Carroll Cougars and the Lafayette Central Catholic Knights squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Carroll Cougars had to settle for second. They fell to the Knights 43-39. Carroll's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Carroll's loss came despite strong showings from Jillian Salts and Alli Harness. Salts scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two blocks, while Harness dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 20-4. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season.
Carroll does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lafayette Central Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Oracles at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd.
