The Freedom Patriots had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 36-30 victory over Cypress Creek on Thursday. The victory was just what Freedom needed coming off of a 48-8 defeat in their prior game.
Quavion Mincey was on fire: he picked up 83 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Rintaro Pierre and his 90 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Freedom's win.
Freedom's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Cypress Creek, their defeat was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9.
Freedom will be staying on the road on November 3rd to face off against University at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. As for Cypress Creek, they will be playing at home against Timber Creek at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Timber Creek presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cypress Creek in Florida (Timber Creek is ranked 246th, while Cypress Creek is ranked 519th).
