After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Washington, the Buchtel Griffins were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They snuck past Kenston with a 41-35 win. This was payback for Buchtel, who suffered a 55-8 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Kenston's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aurora Young, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Young continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Angela Kale, who scored two points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Buchtel pushed their record up to 4-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Kenston, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buchtel will take on Field at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Kenston, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy at 12:30 p.m. Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kenston in Ohio (Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy is ranked 98th, while Kenston is ranked 571st).
