The TMI-Episcopal Panthers pushed their score all the way to 69 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Central. While losing is never fun, TMI-Episcopal can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 481st, while East Central is ranked 92nd).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jacob Stewart, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The contest was Stewart's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zahir Williams, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
TMI-Episcopal's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for East Central, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
TMI-Episcopal will be home for the holidays to greet Smithson Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for East Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Southwest Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Southwest Legacy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
