Meanwhile, Wicomico put the finishing touches on their 17th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Washington, posting a 78-29 victory at home. Given Wicomico's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Washington is ranked 207th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wicomico's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Se'Lah Foreman, who scored 25 points along with six steals. Foreman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 15 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabrielle Corbin, who scored 20 points along with seven assists and five steals.
Bennett's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.2 points per game. As for Wicomico, their victory bumped their record up to 20-1.
Bennett was dealt a bruising 60-14 defeat at the hands of Wicomico in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Foreman, who scored 24 points along with seven steals and five assists.
