While losing is never fun, Horizon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1240th, while Canutillo is ranked 589th).
Canutillo's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mia Lopez, who scored 11 points along with 7 steals. Rebekah Perez was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 5 steals and 4 blocks.
Horizon has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Canutillo, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Horizon will look to defend their home court on Friday against El Paso at 7:30 p.m. As for Canutillo, they will head out on the road to face off against Del Valle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
