After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Walker Valley, McMinn County was happy to have turned things around  on Thursday. They came out on top against the Sale Creek Panthers by a score of  10-5. Considering the Cherokees' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
 Lillie White was a  major factor no matter where she played. She  pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit. The dominant performance also gave  her a new career-high in  strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-5 with one  home run and three  RBI. That  home run was  her first of the season.

 In other batting news,  Brooklyn Barnett was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base. Those  two  runs gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Hayden Potter, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with three  stolen bases and two  runs.
McMinn County's win  ended  a  five-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 7-12. As for Sale Creek,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 6-7-1.
 McMinn County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  match,  a  12-0  defeat against Ooltewah on the 21st. As for Sale Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  15-2  victory against Rockwood on the 23rd.
