With a playoff win on the line, Land O' Lakes rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Wharton Wildcats a 20-0 shutout. Considering the Gators have won 11 matchups by more than 19 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Land O' Lakes found their leader in sophomore Sophia Spiegel, who threw for 155 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 78.6% of her passes, and also rushed for 92 yards on only nine carries.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Land O' Lakes, bringing their record up to 14-1. As for Wharton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Land O' Lakes will take on Springstead at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Gators 4.7, the Eagles 8.1) so any points scored will be well earned. Wharton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
