The Highland Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Campo Verde Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Friday, Highland came up short against the Jaguars and fell 59-48. Highland has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, Highland saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Emilee Searle, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, was perhaps the best of all. Searle is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Addison Riggs was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Meanwhile, Campo Verde waltzed into their game on Monday with four straight wins but they left with five. They managed a 48-42 win over Casteel.
Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Campo Verde, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.
Highland beat the Coyotes 54-41 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Highland since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
