Basketball Recap: Midland Classical Academy Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Midland Classical Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-44 win over the Lake Country Christian Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 49-39 two weeks ago.

Leading Midland Classical Academy to victory were Mariah Davis and Addie Dunn. Davis went 8 for 16 en route to 23 points in addition to eight boards and six steals, while Dunn almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dunn has scored at least a third of Midland Classical Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Kaleigh Sherrill, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Midland Classical Academy's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 29-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points over those games. As for Lake Country Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 22-11.

Coming up, Midland Classical Academy will square off against Lubbock Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lubbock Christian will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Midland Classical Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lake Country Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Trinity at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
